Better Engagement, Better Decisions

Date: 25 November 2009

A guide to deliberative research techniques

The session will provide attendees with an overview of the available techniques to achieve an enhanced level of engagement with citizens and stakeholders. Using numerous case studies, we will share learnings about what better engagement is and how it can result in better decision-making.

This seminar is ideal for those who have heard about deliberative engagement techniques and wish to find out more; or for those who have a desire to create better engagement with stakeholders and the public within their policy area or organisation. It will also be of value for individuals who would like to learn about recent examples of best practice in consultation from other areas of public service.

The agenda will cover the following areas:
• Introducing the techniques - a rough guide to the range of deliberative and collaborative research methods
• Better engagement – making dry and complex policy areas come to life for citizens
• Better decisions – how deliberation feeds into better policymaking

The session is being held at our offices on Wednesday 25th November from 9am - 11am.

If you or one of your colleagues would like to attend, please RSVP to Rikke Kristiansen on rkristiansen@opinionleader.co.uk or 0207 861 3208. Please be aware that spaces are limited.
